Merck

Merck is a leading science and technology company operating in the areas of Healthcare, Life Sciences and Electronics. With a history of more than 350 years, its owners are descendants of Friedrich Jacob Merck, who founded the company in Darmstadt, Germany in 1668.

Merck's subsidiary in Argentina was using an On Premise solution with professional screens and needed to invest in a new application server to comply with internal IT policies, given that the previous one was reaching the end of its life cycle.

Dex Cloud implementation—as a cloud-based software (SaaS) solution—allowed the client to save on new server costs and reduce internal service expenses. Dex Manager encrypts instructions between the server and the players, and uses the secure protocol (HTTPS) for communication, along with other security measures. In addition to Azure security and support, it meets the requirements of SaaS platforms approved by Merck. Additionally, the player software is compatible with WebOS, which allowed the reuse of already installed screens, making the migration completely transparent for users.
